Theme Post (ADHD)

Hello audience, today I will be talking about ADHD (Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder). First, off some symptoms you might experience are aggression, excitability, fidgeting, hyperactivity, impulsivity, irritability, lack of restraint, persistent repetition of words or actions, absent-mindedness, difficulty focusing, forgetfulness, problem paying attention, short attention span, anger, anxiety, boredom, excitement, mood swings, depression or learning disability. Wow okay, that sounded like I might be borderline ADHD. Surprisingly I was actually diagnosed with ADD when I was younger. For some reason, my mom bought me energy drinks. They tasted good, I just didn’t know if they actually worked. Anyway enough about me and onto the treatments (By the way ADHD is not contagious, although it can run in genetics). You can go to certain therapies such as Support group, Cognitive behavioral therapy, Anger Management, Intervention, Psychoeducation, and Family Therapy. There are also medications you can seek out to such as Stimulant, Cognition-enhancing medication, and Antihypertensive drug. And then, of course, you have your usual Clinical Psychologist, Psychiatrist, Pediatrician, and Primary care provider (PCP) as your specialists. That is all for today and PLEASE GIVE ME IDEAS OR ELSE MY BLOG WILL BE SHUT DOWN! Have a good time!

SBC Week 10 (The end)

This is it, my very last post (maybe). Why because this is my farewell to my classmates and my blog? The year is coming to an end this might very well be my last SBC, so let’s make it worth it (or not)? Anyway, the challenge wants us to evaluate our own blog. They want us to evaluate our blog using these questions.

  • How many posts did you write? A: A LOT (25)
  • How many were school based, your own interests or set by the challenge? A: 1o school-based the rest was my own interest (Not in the mood for counting)
  • How many comments did you receive from classmates, teachers or overseas students? A:10 sadly including some of my own
  • Which post received the most comments? Why do you think that happened? A: My post titled “Theme Post (Donald Trump as President Elect)” was a post I’m not proud of but I got three comments. I’m pretty sure this happened because the word “Trump” gets most people’s attention
  • Which post did you enjoy writing the most and why? A: I really enjoyed writing my depression post because I felt I learned the most
  • Did you change blog themes at all and why? A: Of course I did! I started from writing the bare minimum trump blogs now I’m writing stuff that I enjoy like a medical blog!
  • How many widgets do you have? Do you think this is too many or not enough? A: I have 11 widgets and I think this is just right!
  • How many overseas students do you have on your blogroll? A: Honestly in the beginning of last years challenge I did not care at all, but that was until I realized that it affected my grade. So yeah no blog roll 🙁
  • Which web tools did you use to show creativity on your blog? A: CompFight, Grammarly, Edublogs, Google, Bibme, and Google Images!

SBC Week 9 (The Very Best)

From three different topics, we had to choose from (History, inventions, or travel) I decided to choose HISTORY! “Why history you may ask?” well let’s just say history is one of my best’s. One of my favorite history topics is World War II. Speaking (writing) about World War II has anyone heard of the “Call of Duty WWII.” And shoutout to all Battlefield players “Battlefield 1” isn’t dead yet! Here’s the Call of Duty trailer here. (Warning: I do not advise children under the age of 11 should watch this trailer)

Okay, back to the topic. World War II started when Adolf Hitler invaded Poland. For some reason, Great Brittin (Germany’s friend at the time) and France declared war on Germany. Since in 1938 Hitler annexed Austria-Hungry they became a part of Germany. On the battlefield, we had Italy, France, Great Brittian, Germany, Japan, Soviet Union, United States of America, China, New Zeland, Australia, India, and Canada. The USA became a part of World War II when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor (Hawaii). It’s actually quite interesting because in 1941 Germany surprised attacked Russia having Russia turn against Germany. If you think about it Germany actually could have won!

Anyway, in the end, Italy’s leader Benito Mussolini gets executed by a firing squad putting Italy to the side. Japan Surrenders after getting bombed with two atomic bombs. And finally, in, September 2, 1945, Germany surrenders ending World War II just after 156 days Hitler killed himself. If you didn’t understand anything go here! War is not a pretty thing but in the end were all still human. One thing about war is that war never changes.

SBC Week 8 (3)

Finally the last of the SBC Week 8 posts. The post that I commented on was about this guys family. It’s basically about how he talks about how family, isn’t just blood, but people he spends the most time with. I commented “I agree that family isn’t just blood but also people you spend the most time with. Come check my blog out at http://hmsaj.edublogs.org.” You can read the post and the sequel at here. Have a nice day!

SBC Week 8 (1,2)

Today I will write about someone’s blog. I strongly advise you read their blog. Like this could be turned into a book. The title of her series is called “Lost in space.” It’s basically about this girl waking up on a spaceship. Anyway, I commented that it should be in the Flipboard magazine which it should. Anyway, I don’t want to spoil the story (even better it’s a SERIES!).  Now, this should conclude for today! Goodbye! OH MY GOD I FORGOT TO LEAVE THE LINK, well here you go  !!!!!!!!

Sadly apparently I realized that I had to do this three times so here you go. The second is a blog about the importance of foreign language. I commented “Hi, my school actually studies a foreign language (Japanese). Come check out my blog at http://hmsaj.edublogs.org” you can go read the blog at http://5owlsbastian.edublogs.org/2017/04/23/studying-abroad/#comment-37

Theme Post (MORPHINE!)

Today I will talk about the treacherous MORPHINE! Morphine is a narcotic used to kill extreme, pain. Morphine is originally made from Opium another pain killer. Morphine was used in war until Heroin was invented. Anyway, some of the side effects are pain, burning, swelling where the IV is given, shortness of breath, trouble breathing skin rash, itching, hives, slow heartbeat, swelling in the legs, ankles, feet, trouble going to the bathroom (urinating) Constipation, Drowsiness, dizziness, confusion, Nausea, vomiting, and Sweating. Now I will talk about the warnings.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor before taking this medicine. Before using this medicine, make sure your doctor knows if you have a seizure disorder (epilepsy), asthma, liver, heart, kidney, gallbladder, lung, or inflammatory bowel disease, a bleeding disorder, or an enlarged prostate. This medicine may be habit-forming. You should not use more than your Talk to your doctor before you stop using this medicine. You may need to use smaller and smaller amounts before stopping completely. This medicine may make you drowsy or dizzy. Avoid driving or using machinery. This medicine may cause constipation, especially with long-term use. Ask your doctor if you should use a laxative to prevent and treat constipation.

This should conclude my entry for today. Oh and remember never do any kind of medications with alcohol!

SBC Week 7 (Digital Footprint)

Today I will write about something that could be on a subject of importance, that thing is a “Digital Footprint.” A digital footprint is a trace of your identity on the internet. I myself have tried to find myself on the internet by just searching my name up on Google, but I don’t really have a footprint. Anyway, the prompt question is “It is better to have a negative digital footprint than no footprint at all.” I strongly disagree with this because think about it if you have a negative image online who would want to be friends with a bad person. That is why I think it would be better to have no footprint because then nobody can say bad things about your profile on the internet.

Although having a negative footprint is bad, not having a footprint could also be negative. In case if you didn’t know colleges and job managers look at your digital profile to see what kind of person you are.  So instead of having no footprint, you should still have a footprint (A GOOD FOOTPRINT). And I actually might get my own digital footprint soon because at my school we are doing this thing called “Hiki Nō” and were doing this story on Billy V (Sports announcer and emcee). The story will air on PBS Hawaii so tune in!

SBC Week 6 (Osteoporosis) [MORE THAN JUST A MEME]

Today I shall talk about Osteoporosis and how serious it is. If you do not know what Osteoporosis is it’s basically a bone mass disorder. Sadly this time I can’t go over any symptoms because symptoms don’t come along until you get a bone fracture. Although the only common symptom is reduced of height. The saddest part about this is that help can be sought but there is no cure. Sometimes Osteoporosis can be chronic and last a lifetime. Think about if it becomes severe enough you could be in a wheelchair the rest of your life with pain that sometimes can’t be helped!

This is why I say it is more than just a meme. I don’t know if you’ve seen it on YouTube but there was this big fad at our school which was a video of a guy jumping in a wheelchair saying “I have crippling Depression” and then in another episode, he jumped in a wheelchair again and said, “I have Osteoporosis.” If you want and you think this is funny (WHICH IT ISN’T) go to this link. It truly is a shame to what humor has come to. Anyway on to how you can cope and prevent Osteoporosis.

Here I will list some ways to cope and prevent Osteoporosis. You could eat a healthy diet that provides essential nutrients and adequate calories while avoiding excess sugar, carbohydrates, and fatty foods. You can also do some physical exercise by doing aerobic activity for 20-30 minutes 5 days a week improves cardiovascular health. Medications is also a possible route with Vitamins, Dietary supplement, Antacid, Bone health, and Hormone therapy. Seeking a specialist such as a Primary care provider (PCP), Orthopedic surgeon, Geriatrician, Endocrinologist, Physical therapist, Nutritionist, and OBGYN recovery can be easier.

This ends today’s entry. If you learned something new please share your thoughts in the comment section. I hope that this post was very informative and that you have a wonderful day.

SBC Week 5 (Cultural Things My Family and I Do)

Today I am going to write about my family religious habits. If you didn’t know my mom and dad are divorced so we have different ways of celebrating. My mom is the one that I live with so we do more together. Sometimes we go to a Thai temple in Pearl City (In Hawaii in case you don’t know where that is). At the temple, we usually get blessed or get a reading (Telling the future). That is what my mom does. What my dad usually does for celebrations is eat out. Also in case, you didn’t know my dad is not very religious, kind of like me in a way (No beliefs). For me, I really don’t believe in karma and all that other stuff. I only believe what has been scientifically proven, because if you say I’m wrong I will always have science to back me up! Anyway, that should conclude today’s blog! Have a wonderful day!

SBC Week 4 (Terrorism)

Today I will talk about a very serious subject, terrorism. Terrorism is everywhere and it’s very hard to end. If you are wondering the literal definition of terrorism it is, “The unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.” Now that you know the definition we can talk about how it affects people. Terrorism affects people greatly especially how now after the September 11 attacks most Muslims and Middle Easterns are viewed as terrorists (I do not consider them terrorists and I appreciate all races and religions). Most recent terrorist attacks in the United States of America has actually been from American citizens, why would they do such crimes to their own country, let’s find out. What happens is somehow teens get a hold onto Islamic propaganda which persuades them to think the wrong way of Islam, for example, Quran verse 3:51 “Soon shall We cast terror into the hearts of the Unbelievers, for that they joined companions with Allah, for which He had sent no authority”. This speaks directly of polytheists, yet it also includes Christians, since they believe in the Trinity.” This is sadly true about Islam but the rest of the Quran is mainly about peace and love, for example, Quran verse 4:93, “And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell to abide therein, and the Wrath and the Curse of Allah are upon him, and a great punishment is prepared for him.” This proves that Islam is about peace and love. And no race should be judged as a terrorist. We have all done something bad, but what really matters is the peace and good inside of us.
